A Turnkey Replumb can be compared to heart surgery for your home, and we are proud to be home surgeons. Your pipes are the veins and arteries behind the walls, while your main water line serves as the heart of the system. When they begin to fail, small repairs can only go so far.
Naturally, homeowners have a lot of questions before getting started. How long will a Replumb take? Will you need to leave your home? How much drywall will be removed? How long will the water be turned off?
Understanding the process ahead of time can make a whole-home pipe replacement project feel much less overwhelming. Below, we will be answering some of the most common questions home owners ask about a residential Turnkey Replumb.
Your Turnkey Replumb Questions, Answered:
· Is drywall cutting, repair, patching, texturing and painting included in the proposal?
– Yes! Our Turnkey process means we handle everything from start to finish. Leaving you relaxed and your home like we were never there.
· Is any of the Replumb project subcontracted?
– No, we keep all work in-house for better quality control, communication, fluidity and accountability from start to finish.
· Can I live in my home during the Replumb project?
– Yes! Our catered Replumb process makes it extremely comfortable to live-in during the project. Work areas are kept to a minimum, contained thoroughly, cleaned up daily and water is always on after hours.
· How long does a Replumb usually take?
– Depending on the size and fixture count of the home, typical residential properties usually take 3-5 days to complete. 1-2 days plumbing and 2-3 days drywall, texture and paint repair.
· Will a permit be pulled and my plumbing be inspected by the building department?
– Yes! We always pull permits on our projects. When the new plumbing system is installed, we schedule a building inspector to come out and verify the system is up to city standards and code.
· What type of piping material will be installed?
– We install premium Uponor AquaPEX-A with ProPEX expansion or crimp fittings. We offer Type L copper as well, depending on our customers preference. Both are proven, high-quality materials built for long-term reliability.
· Are there any warranties attached to the system?
– We provide a lifetime workmanship and labor warranty. Additionally, depending on which system the homeowner chooses, Uponor provides a 10-year material warranty (on the standard system, piping only) or a 25-year material warranty on their ProPEX system (piping and fittings). There is no manufacturer warranty associated with copper systems, or lavatory and water closet shutoffs.
· Will Replumb Specialties check other parts of my plumbing such as drain lines to determine if a repair or replacement is required?
– Yes! If you have a specific area of concern, or our team notices something outside the original scope: We will show you and consult with you on how you would like to move forward.
· Can Replumb Specialties make additional upgrades to my plumbing system – such as a new sink faucet, recirculation line, hose bibs, a water heater, a pressure-reducing valve (PRV), or a shower valve of my choice – during my turnkey pipe replacement project?
– Yes! Your pipe replacement project is an ideal time to make any additional plumbing upgrades. With our crew and materials already on-site, combining these improvements into one project is most cost effective.
